1Working distance and other notes

1.

How long is the working distance of X-Loupe? Can I have a longer working distance in X-Loupe?

A:

The working distance for X-Loupe A series or G series is between 0.8 cm and 1 cm. If users need a longer working distance, users can remove the barrels from X-Loupe lenses carefully according to the instructions. Please click here for more details..

2. Is there anything I should pay attention to while shooting different subjects?

A:

Not touchable surface

For the surfaces that are not able to touch, like art pieces or electronic devices, users can find the silicon rubbers in X-Loupe packaging and put the rubbers in front of the lenses to protect the delicate subjects

Reflective surface

The special design in X-Loupe G series lighting can efficiently reduce the reflection from the surface. Users can try different light settings to find the best light source for a good image quality while taking pictures.

Transparent surface

The cameras in X-Loupe are auto-focusing. Therefore, the focus is always on the surface when users press the camera shutter. To get the focus underneath the transparent surface, users can use AFL function to lock the focus and move the camera upward or downward to find the best focus through the camera viewfinder. To perform AFL function, users slightly press the shutter to get the focus first. Then press Macro/Infinity and “AFL” will be shown on the camera LCD.
While shooting the transparent subjects, users can put a piece of dark paper underneath the transparent subject to enhance the visibility.

Floating subjects on the water surface

First of all, the floating subjects are not easy to get the focus. Second, few things that the optical products must avoid are the moisture and the humidity. Therefore, we do not recommend users to use X-Loupe to dip in the water to shoot the floating subjects.

Others

There is a great variety of shooting subjects. Therefore, please feel free to contact us for any questions, techniques, or suggestions of new shooting skills. We appreciate your input.

3.

I need to take pictures inside of something with very limited space, but X-Loupe G series is too big to put into the space. Is there any other alternative to solve this problem?

A:

For a limited space, users can remove the barrels from X-Loupe G series. But the lighting will be decreased and scattered a little when the barrels are removed. If users need more space, the diffusers can be dissembled. Please note that the lighting will be decreased more if the diffusers are removed. Please read the instructions carefully before removing the diffusers.
